The Charlotte County Adopt-A-Road Program owes its popularity and success to its many dedicated volunteers. This program is open to all family, civic or non-profit organizations, schools, environmental groups, commercial or private enterprises. It is an easy program to implement, not overly time-consuming, and there are no fees or costs involved. The group's only obligation is to remove litter from their adopted section of roadway four times a year. The County provides the necessary safety equipment and identifying signs are installed to recognize the group's community contribution.
